Carlos Causey Obituary

Carlos Nefera Causey was born February 26, 1973 in Laurel, Mississippi to parents Dianne Causey and Marion Lee, Jr. He attended Humboldt Elementary School, Whitaker Middle School, and graduated from Jefferson High School where he played football for the Jefferson Demos.

He was a carpenter by trade, he worked at PGE, Walsh Construction Co., and later at Napa Auto Parts for years up until his illness. He loved his coworkers and everyone he met during his deliveries, he was a friendly person.

Carlos was known as “Killa” by family and friends. One thing you could say for certain is he loved his family with all of his heart. His grandmother, Annie Mae (Momo), was his heart and soul. He was raised by Momo, his mother, and a whole village (his aunts and uncles) who helped mold him into the man and father he became.

Carlos loved his children and granddaughter very much. There are no words to describe Carlos’ love and devotion to his family and friends.

Carlos was the Dallas Cowboys biggest fan. He would argue with his cousins and friends if they said anything negative about the Cowboys. He also liked to barbecue and play dominos.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Mae (Momo) Guy; grandfather, Harrison Guy (Papa); father, Marion (Bo Pete) Lee; and his uncle, John L Causey.

Carlos leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Dianne Causey; daughter, Kiasha Nefera Causey; son, Carlos Nefera Causey Jr.; granddaughter, Germyni Ra’niy Hillman; brothers, Jasmine (Akeeta) Causey and DaRain Jackson; sister, Tiffany (Eldridge) Osbin; surrogate sister, Rashonda (Nikki) Meaux; aunts, Catherine Gaines, Delorise Richards, and Louvenia Lynn (all of Picayune, Mississippi), Linda (Clyde) Hoof and Ruby (Marvin) Hill; uncles, Steven (Anthonette) Guy and Harrison (Tina) Guy, Jr.; great aunts, Melvenia Jackson and Irma Jean Badon (both of Portland, Oregon); grandmother, Louvern Lee; as well as a host of cousins with whom he had very close relationships, and friends.

Carlos especially loved his nieces and nephews: Jasmine Causey Jr., Jazmyne Amari Causey, Jaidyn Causey, JaMarrion Causey, JaRhianna Causey, Gabriyelle Osbin, Camryn Osbin, Kenneth Coleman Jr., SaMiyah Coleman, Ava Coleman, Tyrell Comeaux, Alexis Meaux, Jayla Meaux, Curtis Mcnack and Paris Roberson.

He is remembered by his Dungeon Brothers from Cleveland and Skidmore.
