Byron "Maverick" Keith Randle

Byron Keith Randle was born to Helen V. Randle and William C Randle Jr. on July 27, 1959. He grew up in North/Northeast Portland, Oregon. As a child, he attended: Humbolt, Boise, Beech and Martin Luther King Jr. elementary schools. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1977.

Byron had the nickname “Maverick” since early childhood. When Byron’s mother (Helen) was pregnant with him, she would often get lucky when gambling. Due to her luck, Uncle “Dan Troop” Martin nicknamed the baby boy “Maverick” before he was born.. Many people still know and call him that to this day.

After completing high school, Byron remained in Portland where he was employed at various hospitality restaurants such as: Poor Richards, Top of the Cosmo, and Hilton Hotel. This is around the time that Byron developed his love for cooking. Byron could COOK!! Later in life, Byron provided lawn maintenance for a few select customers.

Byron was a compassionate and kind man. He had a heart for the Elderly community. Often he would check on the elderly, providing assistance and running errands when necessary. He was also known for his humorous personality and making others smile and laugh with his ‘side comments’ and facial expressions… priceless.

Byron was called home on February 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his: Mother, Helen V. Randle, Grandparents: Belton and Ironia Ollison, Uncles: Luther, Lonnie, Eugene, and Belton Jr. Ollison, and Aunt, Pat Ollison.

Byron leaves to cherish his memory his father, William C. Randle Jr; five siblings; Deena Randle, Judith Randle, Duane Randle, H. Renee Chambers and Mya Randle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
