Brooksie Nell Majors began her life as Ruby Nell Chiren. Her biological parents were James Chiren from Galveston, Texas and Ruby Juanita brown from Lubbock, Texas.
She was born Feb. 2 1931 in Lubbock, Texas on Groundhogs day. Her father James was a day laborer and her mother Ruby Juanita worked as a domestic providing household services.
Brooksie was adopted as an infant into the Williams family. Her adoptive parents were Lee Roy Williams and his wife Annie May. She also had an older William’s sister Lulu at that time.
Brooksie had a biological older brother from the same mother Ruby Juanita. His name was Lonnie BC Eichelberger. He was adopted to a different family in Waco, Texas. He was born in 1924. He used to ride his bicycle over to see Brooksie whenever she visited her Grandmother Gertrude in Waco, Texas. Lonnie fought in World War ll from the time he was 16 until he was missing in action at the age of 20 in Strettoia, Italy 1945.
Later on in her life Brooksie met and married Stanley Lamar Majors. Together they raised six children Rhonda Joseph, Lorna Joseph, Miriam Joseph, Lamar Majors, Stanley Majors, and Bernard Majors. She also has a son Roy Williams by LC Anderson.
Brooksie worked in the healthcare industry, as a household service worker, and cook. When she was not providing care to sick patients she enjoyed music, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by Roy Williams, Miriam Joseph, Lamar Majors, Stanley majors and Bernard Majors. Brooksie also has several grand children and great grand children.
