Brian Merice Tate Sr., born on November 27, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025.
Brian lived a life marked by service, warmth, and an unforgettable presence. His smile could light up any room, and his laugh—full, joyful, and contagious—had a way of drawing people in. He had a gift for connection, the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel seen.
Brian graduated from Concordia College with a degree in Management and Communication, a perfect reflection of his natural charisma and genuine interest in others. Brian proudly served in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring with honor as a Master Sergeant. Much of his career was spent as a recruiter, where his ability to inspire, encourage, and guide others made him an exceptional leader and mentor.
Brian is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Barbara Tate, who remained his steadfast partner through every season of life. He was also deeply loved by his three sisters—Arlette, Grace, and Penny—as well as a large and close‑knit family who cherished him dearly. Brian is reunited in heaven with his two beloved children, Brian Tate Jr. and Dee Dee Tate, who preceded him in passing.
Brian was an extraordinary man—kind, joyful, and deeply cherished. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
