Obituary

Betty Janie (Jean) was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on April 11, 1946 to the late John D. and Essie B. Brant. In 1948, the family moved to Portland, Oregon where it  became home. They became the proud parents of Betty J. Brant, the second born in a family of eight children.

She was educated at Jefferson High School and  furthered her education and achieved completion of her Adult Foster Care Provider Certification on April 2, 1992.

She was a woman of faith who loved the Lord and was very active in church  ministry serving on the Prayer team, Fellowship team and other ministries.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Essie B. Brant and John D. Brant,  stepmother Johnnie Mae Brant; children, Edmond E. McIntosh Jr.; husbands:  Edmond E. McIntosh Sr., and Jimmy Watson; sisters, Barbara Jean Brown,  Martha Ree Henry; brother, Larry C. Brant; special niece, Keyawna Williams.

Left to honor Betty, cherish her memory and remember her life are her children; Renee Elizabeth Brant,  TyR’An (Taryanne) Beatrice Rahmaan, Twila Angel Davis (Roderick, Shekinah and Isaac); John D. Brant Jr.,  Anthony D. Brant,  sisters; Mary Alice Turner,  Debra R. Howard,  sister-in-law: Carmen Brant,  godchildren, Charles Wakefield,  LouVena and Leola Warner; special friends,  Margaret and Gene Teasley,  Barbara (BJ) J. Malary,  Patsy West,  Reuben  Chappell and Joanne Warren,  ten grandchildren; Alisha Eze, Shamah Brant, Eddie McIntosh, LaShod McIntosh, Patrick D’Aundre McIntosh, Shekinah Davis, Isaac Davis Tyson Tidwell, Starla Sequeena and nine great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. A big thank you to her home care provider Ms. Josie Holmes!!
