Angel Bagley-Savage Obituary

Angel Shannel Bagley-Savage was born on February 9, 1974 in Portland, Oregon at Emanuel Hospital at 5:30am to Deborah Bagley and Brad Savage. She attended John Ball Elementary School, Ockley Green Middle School, Harriet Tubman Middle School and graduated from Jefferson High School where she was known as a basketball star. She went on to play D1 basketball for Oregon State University for 2 years until she was no longer able to play due to a back injury.

She later became self-employed as one of Portland’s greatest barbers. Her infectious laugh and smile gave comfort to anyone who crossed her path. She has cut either your hair, your children’s hair, a family member’s hair or at least a friend’s hair that you know. Always encouraging, always positive and always talking about God and made you feel good without effort. To know her was to love her. She also loved her dog, Carmello.

Angel was also a great writer; including poems, a great artist she could draw. Most importantly she was a true servant of God, a prayer warrior, a woman after God’s own heart.  Her favorite scripture in the bible was Psalms 31. She loved God with her whole heart. Her relationship with God was front and center. It was known by all and never ever hidden. The bible states, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by word of their testimony” Rev. 12:11 NKJV and she did that by giving her testimony on Facebook about a struggle God had delivered her from. This testimony displayed her absolute faith and trust in God that not only went viral but compelled people to listen and changed lives. Her final post regarding her deliverance of God’s awesome power displayed a glow that ONLY the anointing of God can give.

In her grandmother’s words, “God needed a Barber so He chose the best!”

She leaves to mourn her Mother, Deborah Bagley (Norman); Father, Brad Savage; Grandmother, Peggy Warren; Brothers, Richard Overton (Brittany), Chance Savage Sr., DeMarcos Savage, Dietrick Matthews, Norman Matthews Jr., and Michael Hepburn; Sisters, Desire Cage (Michael), Special Bradley, Tiana Joseph and Alicia Joseph; Nephews,  Samuel Overton and Tyrese Overton, Armoni Overton, and Isaiah Overton; Niece, Shaada Overton; 1 great niece, Kyla Overton; cousin, Tomisha Daniels; and a special acknowledgment of her Pastor Valina Tyler-Bird whom she loved, Jackie Neal, Deborah Belgrave, Katie Duckett, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, fellow Barbers, her church family TKCIC and friends.
