Addie Bea Wallace was born on September 1st, 1936, due to a lost & relocated birth certificate, the family originally celebrated on September 25th but began celebrating the 1st also (two b-days) wasn't she special?
Born to Miss Lucille Phillips, whom she was proceeded in transition by, as well as her husband, Donald Wallace and children, Leanna & Rickey Wallace.
Addie moved from Bradley, Arkansas to Vanport, Oregon at the age of six in 1942 with her grandmother Dora Jones and other family members. Just three short years later, was the Vanport Flood. While the family lost all of their belongings, by the grace of God, were able to rebuild and start a life in what we know now to be inner North/Northeast Portland. She attended Boise Elementary and Roosevelt High School.
As an adult, she worked as a full-time in-home care provider. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, then she could no longer work. After going into remission, she started light-duty work again at her church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. LeRoy Haynes, Jr. faithfully as a stewardess, missionary and member of the Voices of Worship Choir. She was diagnosed with breast, bone, and colon cancer again in 2019, went into remission again, was re-diagnosed in 2025 with liver cancer which ultimately caused her transition.
Her hobbies included crosswords and 1,000-2,000-piece puzzles. She put those puzzles together in Guiness Book of World Record time. She also loved her TV shows, "I Love Lucy", Western's favorite "Rawhide", and Tyler Perry's "Zatima & Sista's". She also enjoyed attending Portland Pilots basketball games with staff and tenants at Marquis Piedmont Assisted Living Facility, where she lived until her transition date.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Denise Nichols of Beaverton, OR, Veronica Wallace of Portland, OR, and Evette Spicer of Portland, OR; sons, Donald Ray Wallace of Sacramento, CA, and Ronald Wallace of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Sharaya Ware (Carl) of Fairview, OR, and Eli Ware (Meko) of Gresham, OR; and great-grandchildren, Jazmear & Jariah Ware both of Las Vegas, NV; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
