William Warren Obituary

William Verlon Warren was born September 9, 1936 in Linden, Texas. He was the fourth child of four born to Andrew Lee Warren and Florence (Sanders) Warren. He was raised up in the community called Pleasant Hill, attended church and grade school there. He attended Fairview High School where he played all sports. After high school, William joined the U.S. Army, served for two years, honorably discharged. Returning home for a short time, he married his beloved wife Sadie (Lloyd) Warren. William soon left Texas for Portland, Oregon to join his siblings and other relatives in July 1958. Sadie would join him the following year.

After arriving in Oregon, William found work at Montgomery Ward and Esco for a short time. Later on Oregon Steel Mill for 14 plus years and Reynolds aluminum for 13 years, where he retired in 1991. He was also a barber, and a Reserve Police Officer at one time. William loved fishing and was always ready to share a fish story with others. He loved watching old western movies and working on puzzles.

William took pride in dressing well, always coordinated. William joined Vancouver Ave. First Baptist Church in 1960, and served as an usher, trustee and finance secretary of the Sunday school, which he enjoyed. William and Sadie were married 59 years plus and to this union three sons were born, William Jr. (deceased 1959), Fredric (deceased 2016), and Tracy Warren. William was a loving husband, father and provider who loved his family. He departed this life with his family at his bedside.

“We love him, but God loves him best.”
