Terry Lamar Grier, born March 17, 1967 in Portland, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2019 at the age of 52.
Terry is survived by his loving mother, Geraldine Goodgame, his stepfather, Tyrone Goodgame, his sons, Jacob Grier, Tyson Grier, and their mother Molly Grier, his aunts Margaret (Sissy) Bailes, Twana Johnson, Sherry Jennings, his uncles Mardas Jennings, Jimmy Jennings, Ricky Jennings, Robert Brooks, his cousin Felicia Bailes, and a host of other cousins, and close friends.
Preceding Terry in death were his “Granny” Margaret Johnson, father Meade Grier, his grandmother Annie Jennings, aunts Judy Brooks, and Reva Grier.
Terry was a devoted father who was very proud of both his sons’ talent for music. He took great pleasure in teaching them how to play piano and sing, watching them perform in plays, musicals, and commercials. Terry was an avid Oakland Raiders and Florida State football fan. He always dreamed of coaching in the NFL, like his friend Kelly Skipper. Terry also loved track and field. He was a 400-meter runner, and took pride and enjoyed the fact that his aunt (Sissy) Margaret Johnson Bailes won a gold medal in the 1968 Olympics.
Terry will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
