Renee Smith

Renee was born on July 8, 1962 in Portland, Oregon to parents Charlene Moore and Joseph Nelson.

Renee resided in Portland most of her life. She attended Vernon Elementary School, Ockley Green Middle School and Jefferson High School. Renee was known for her sparkling smile and warm heart that touched all who came in contact with her.

She loved listening to music and hanging out with family when she wasn't working. Although she didn't have any biological children, she was the stepmom to Lamar Barbar Jr. which she raised as her own son. Renee was a mother figure to all kids. She would do whatever she could to bring a smile to all the kids faces.

Renee was a family oriented person. If you didn't know you were related she would sure let it be known.

On December 28, 2018, The Lord called Renee home.

With profound sadness, Renee leaves to mourn, siblings, Robert Mott II, Andrew Mott, AnnaMarie Williams, Deon Williams, Joseph Nelson, Shalunda Crain, Larry Riggins, Shulena Nelson, Tyrone James, Rhonda Ankles, Trenise James; partner, Alfredo Suarez Aragon; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Albina Christian Church, Terry Family Funeral Home, and everyone who sent cards, words of comfort, flowers, food and other contributions during this difficult time.
