Patrick Hill Sr.

Patrick David Hill was born October 26, 1963 to the late Rev. Robert C. Hill and Margaret l. Hill of Portland, Oregon. Patrick attended Vernon Elementary School, and transferred to Harvey Scott Elementary School. He graduated from the 8th grade and finally attended James Madison High School.

As an adult he worked several different jobs. He also enlisted into the Army National Guard and the reserve, where he served until he started having health problems. He was discharged with an honorable discharge.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was baptized at the age of 9 yrs. old by the late Rev. John Holiday, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Portland, Oregon.

He was raised up in a Christian home where his father was a preacher, teacher and pastor. One of his favorite scriptures was Psalms 23. His favorite gospel song was amazing grace and  near the cross.

When Patrick learned how to drive, you would know when he’s around, he would play his music so loud in his car. Playing some of his favorite R&B songs  “the whisper”,“ and the beat goes on”, “Bobby Caldwell”, “what you won’t do”….he had a love for music…he joined his dads church, Paradise M.B.C. Where he participated in several church events. Years later he joined New Hope Missionary B.C. under the leadership of Pastor Robert Charles Jointer. As the years went by his health began to fail.  He began to ask questions like, “how do I know that I'm saved”?  “what do I need to do to make it to heaven”? He had a long conversation with his sister Gracie. He called her on the 5th of December, 2018. She shared with him that if you confess with your mouth,” Jesus is lord” and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans:9-10

She told him to ask God to forgive you of your sin, and your sin will be cast into the sea of forgiveness and they are never to be remembered. “he replied I believe. I love the lord. And I have asked him for forgiveness.”…

He leaves to mourn. his mother, Mrs. Margaret l. Hill; father preceded him in death: Rev. Robert C. Hill.; his children, son, Patrick David Hill Jr.; daughter, Ashley Shawnice Hill; siblings, Arenetter l Freeman (Theodore Freeman), Charles l. Hill Sr., Ruby M. Hill, Terry l.  Hill Sr.(Diane Hill), Gracie A. Hill-Watkins; 7 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephew’s, aunts and uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephew’s, and 1 great- great nephew. And a host of friends  that loved him dearly..
