Lewis Golden Obituary

Lewis Dwayne Golden, born on May 11, 1962 in Portland, Oregon, to Stella Johnson and the late Thomas Golden, passed away at age 56 on March 8, 2019. Dwayne graduated from Franklin High School in 1980, Wilberforce University in 1982, and Portland Community College in 1984. In the early 1980’s he became a Christian at Piedmont Church of Christ under the leadership of Evangelist Michael K. Vinson. He held great roles in the Portland Metro Area; a Restitution Collections and Court Clerk at Clackamas County Courthouse, Collector at Wells Fargo, Office Manager & Membership Services at Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs until leaving in 2015 to become a full-time care provider for his mother.

Dwayne loved cooking, reading, modeling, fashion shows, singing, spending time with family, and African dancing. He always put family first no matter what and this was no secret. Dwayne was involved with various community groups such as Brother to Brother, Cascade Aids Project and Our House of Portland.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his stepfather, Johnnie Johnson; grandmothers, Sarah Richey and Ardnecia Golden; grandfathers, Eddie Richey and Lonzie Golden.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas Golden; and sisters, Teshia Balfour (Eugene), Jeanetta Golden, and Debra Monroe. He also leaves behind his dog, Tut.

“My loving brother, even though your journey on earth has ended. A new one is just beginning. You will be missed dearly.”

Your Sister,
Teshia Balfour
