Kelvin Michael Taylor Sr. was born November 11, 1958 in Canton, Ohio to Virginia Bonds and Houston Taylor. He was the first eldest of six children.
Kelvin attended South High School in Youngstown, Ohio, where he played basketball. Kelvin graduated in 1977 and joined the Army that same year. He was stationed in Tacoma, Washington to be in the infantry, Kelvin was honorably discharged in 1984.
He moved to Portland, Oregon and attended Portland Community College to be a Chef. Kelvin ended up working a lot of different jobs over the years. He met Lorraine Buckley on June 12, 1986, they later married on January 28, 1991 and to this union was seven children and one child from another marriage. In 1994 Kelvin joined The Church of Living God PGT3 under Elder Sylvester Green III and became a minister. When Sylvester Green III passed away he became the pastor of Temple #3. He was a faithful member for years. In 1991 he started working for PHC which is now Relay Resources and spent over 25 years there until he passed away on August 27, 2018.
Kelvin is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Bonds; father, Houston Taylor; mother in-law, Ruby Lee German; father in-law, Robert Lee Buckley Sr.; son, Michael Andre Taylor; aunt, Erma Gibson.
He leaves behind wife, Lorraine Taylor; children, Ruby Primas (Jean), Kelvin M. Taylor Jr., Jolanda Taylor, Virginia Taylor, Brandon Taylor, all of Portland, Oregon, Antonio Buckley (Jessica) of Vancouver, Washington, Kailianna Taylor of Tacoma, Washington, and Kendra Taylor of Billings, Montana; grandchildren, Stone, Satchel, Aireauna, Kayleigh, Snow, Maylynn, Josiah, Solana, Aiden, Nyobi, Tara, Malaya, and Kayden; sister, Stephanie Fite of Ohio; brothers, Clarence, Richard, Henry, and Stephen Fite all of Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
