Juanita Pitts-Price Obituary

Juanita Pitts Price was born January 7, 1937 in Okmulgee Oklahoma to Tillman Ellis Sr and Alovain Mitchell. At an early age Juanita her older brother Leonard and her mother moved to
Pawnee Oklahoma when her mother married Allen Parish who raised her until she married.

Juanita was the second of 10 children. She attended School in Pawnee, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life and later married. Juanita Ellis-Parrish and Willard Pitts-Price Sr. we're United in marriage on May 20,1953. To this Union was born six children,  Christina, Willard Jr, Donald, Tishana and Tammia and in 1964 the family moved to Estacada Oregon to be with Willard's
biological father Rufus Price and then to Portland where DeAngelo was born into the Union.

Juanita and the family joined. St. Mark Baptist Church under the leadership of
Reverend Edward Wilder, she later moved her membership to Emmanuel Temple Full Gospel
Pentecostal Church in 1970 under the leadership of Bishop AA Wells where she worked the altar Faithfully and she was an awesome Prayer Warrior. She also was Vice President of the Missionary Department, she sang in the Senior Choir and later was ordained as an Evangelist. She loved and served the Lord with all her heart Until the End. Even after being diagnosed with dementia she may have not recognized you sometimes but she never forgot how to pray, as she would do for the other patients that were in the facility. she was kind and loving, always giving of herself to family friends and even strangers although you wouldn't know they were strangers because she talked to everyone she met. she loved cooking, quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and various other crafts. she loved working with her hands, she often told her children if you see something that needs to be done don't wait until someone ask you to do it, just do it. She became a well-known entrepreneur in the
Portland metro area as a owner operator of Sister Pitts infant and toddler daycare center which she ran for several years and also owned and operated her own cleaning service. she also worked as a healthcare provider at Good Samaritan Hospital where she received and employee service award in 1979 and later worked for Kaiser Medical Center in that same capacity until she retired Juanita decided to go back to school to get her GED and then pursued her associate's degree from
The AL Hardy Academy of Theology. 

To celebrate her homegoing and cherish her loving memory Juanita leaves her husband Willard
Pitts-Price Sr.( proceeding her in death) her son Willard Pitts Price Jr.( preceding her in death). Sons- Donald R Price (Rowena) of Canby, Oregon , DeAngelo Price (Nicolette) of Fairfield,
Oregon. Daughters- Tishana Price of Atlanta, Georgia and Tammia J Price-Lucas of Jacksonville, Florida (Nathaniel) of Portland, Oregon. Brothers- Authur Parrish of Phoenix, Arizona (preceding her death), Leonard Griggs of Kansas City, Missouri. Tillman Ellis Jr. of Arlington,
Texas.- (preceding her death). Gene Parrish of Phoenix Arizona ,Vernon Parrish (Carolyn) of
Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ricky Parrish (Mary) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Sisters- Shirley Carr
preceding her in death of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Alean Brown of Phoenix, Arizona. Erma Williams (Leon) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elsie Stuart of Kansas City, Missouri. Arnita Reed (Clarence) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mary-Louise Brown of Louisville, Kentucky. Christine Shelton of Louisville, Kentucky.

Her son's Donald and DeAngelo stood in prayer at her bedside until she took her last breath to go home to be with the Lord.
