Erma went to Elementary School in Arkansas. She moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan with her mother and siblings. There she attended South High School.

After the passing of her mother she relocated to California with sisters. During her time in California, she worked at a local hospital. While residing in Los Angeles, California she met Leon Brewer Jr. whom she married on September 2, 1961. From this union they had 4 children, 3 daughters and 1 son.

Erma J Brewer was the First Lady of the New Testament Church, where she served faithfully until her death. She faithfully supported her husband's ministry, she loved her family and church family.

We will miss her greatly, but we know she is now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Erma is preceded in death by her parents JR and Estella Flowers, 2 sisters: Arletha Ashmore and Georgie Bryant, 5 brothers: John Flowers, Henry Flowers, Willie Flowers, Sipuo Flowers and Herbert Lee.

Erma leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years Pastor Leon Brewer Jr., her children: Sondra Mercedal (Walter), Leon Brewer III (Colleen), Paula Brewer and Trina Sewell (Carlos). 6 grandchildren: Treona Jones, Andre Brewer, Leon Brewer IV, Aliyia Brewer, Dreyvon Stephens and Diamond Key, 2 goddaughters: Debra Washington and Karah Archie (Chancellor), 2 sisters: Ollie Robins (James) and Bessie Mounday and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
