Earl Norris Preston was born February 26 1940 in Stamford, Texas. He Departed this life, Wednesday, May 16 2018 after fighting a losing battle to cancer.
He was born to the union of his parents Lewis Alexander Preston Sr. and Lela Preston. He was the fourth child born out of 7 children. The family relocated to Vanport, Oregon in the 1940’s where Earl grew to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
Earl graduated from Washington High School in Portland, Oregon. After graduating, he became an active member for a short time, of the Oregon National Guard. He later worked in the Customer Service/Hotel Industry, but ultimately retiring as a Parking Garage Supervisor for City Center Parking for over 30 plus years.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Lewis Preston Jr., and Willie Preston; one son, Norris Deon Preston and one stepson David Johnson. He was also preceded in death by one grandson Deondre’ Clark.
Earl leaves to cherish the love of his life, his wife of 38 years Gloria Preston, who he affectionately called his “Glow Warm”. He also leaves behind two daughters Deirdre Anderson (Antonio) of West Hills, California, Teresa Preston of Las Vegas, Nevada; one stepdaughter Angela Willis of Portland, Oregon; two sons Charles Preston and Darren Preston of Portland, Oregon. As well as two sisters Joyce Whitmore and Ada Francis Hatton (Raymond) of Portland, Oregon; two sister-in-laws, Pauline Pendgraft and Rita Johnson both of Dallas, Texas.
He also leaves behind three brothers Arthur Preston (Annette), Melvin Preston (Kathy), and Lawrence Preston all of Portland, Oregon and one brother in law Larry Gardner of Phoenix, Arizona, as well as a host of grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
