Carl Pierce Obituary

Carl Louvrous Pierce son of Carl Edward Pierce and Mattie Jean Carroll Pierce was born November 3, 1977 in Malvern, Hot Springs County, Arkansas.  He departed this life Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Fleming, Logan County, Colorado.

Carl affectionately known by his family as ‘Lil’ Carl entered this world weighing approximately three pounds when exiting the hospital.  He spent his early childhood in Malvern and was active in sports.  He played T-Ball with the Malvern Little League Club and football at Malvern Jr. High School for the Cubs.  During his adolescence, the family moved to Portland Oregon where he has resided for the past twenty-six years.  After moving to Portland, he attended Jefferson High School and in 1997 obtained his GED from Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center (POIC).  His favorite pastime included playing video games, golfing, spending time at the beach, dirt bike riding and watching his favorite NFL Team, the Dallas Cowboys with friends and family.  He was a loving father, caring son, devoted brother, awesome nephew, uncle and loyal friend who was always smiling and offering a helping hand.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Rockport First Missionary Baptist Church of Malvern, AR., under the leadership of Dr. J. N. McCollum.  Carl was a dedicated and loyal Employee of Metro Machinery Rigging Company, a subsidiary of AXIS Crane Company in Tualatin, OR. where he was a rigger and truck driver until his death.  He was so proud to have completed his CDL training to further advance his career. Until 2003 he spent several years employed by Miller Paint Co. of Portland OR. as a color mixer.

‘Lil” Carl leaves to cherish his memories, loving parents Mattie Jean Carroll Pierce of Gresham, OR; Carl (Jackie) Pierce Sr. of Franklinton, LA.; two sons Carl Louvrous Pierce Jr. of Portland, OR, Dante James Pierce of Grants Pass, OR.; six sisters Kathryn (James) Bruton of Vancouver, WA., Marilyn D.
