Bennie Lee Manuel as born October 10,1918 in Vicksburg Mississippi to Joe and Dora Johnson. She is the wife of the late Percy N. Manuel Sr. Bennie worked for Lockheed Aircraft for several years and at Multnomah County Hospital, now known as Oregon Health Sciences & University.
She was baptized on Mother's Day at 11years old. During her Christian journey she has served as a children's sunday school teacher, and mission secretary. She loved singing in the choir at Mt Olivet Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev Clow, and at Mt Zion Baptist Church founded by her late husband the Rev. Percy N. Manuel Sr.
She is survived by her daughters, Dora J. Hill, Patricia D. Thompson, Taquetta I. Mitchell; eleven grandchildren and a host of great and great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Percy N. Manuel Sr.; sister, Beulah Moore; brother, Fred Johnson; and son's, Clement T. and Booker T. Stewart.
