Alice Lavonne Lindsey was born in Durham North Carolina on January 5, 1945 to mothers Virginia Dixon and Alice Williams. She attended elementary school in North Carolina and later graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. In 1961 she married Robert Lee Louis and to this union six children were born. In 1973 she gave birth to her youngest daughter Denise Fuller.
In 1998 she married Val Lindsey, there were no children born to their union. She was a hardworking, strong, independent woman that was dedicated to providing for her family. She worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Travel Lodge and later retired from Residence Inn after 21 years of service.
At a young age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Later in life she joined Allen Temple CME Church in Portland.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, she loved shopping and spending time with Valarie Jones. She also loved watching Meet the Browns, Criminal Minds, and Blue Bloods. She adored spending time with her family, laughing, dancing, and eating. Her favorite candy bars were Mr. Good Bar and Milky Way.
Alice was preceded in death by both of her mother’s Virginia Dixon and Alice Williams, her husband Robert L. Louis, and her great granddaughter Yashawnee Vaughn.
On April 1, 2018 God called Alice home. She leaves to cherish her siblings Tony Snipes of Colorado, Nate Dixon, Lavonne Dixon, and Stanley Dixon all of Baltimore, MD. Her loving children Darrell Louis (Marie), Terrie Louis, Fonceil Louis-Ware and her husband, Ricci, Donald Louis, Michael Louis and his wife Flo of Glendale AZ, Robert Louis, Denise Fuller and her beloved dog Brandon Boy. Stepchildren Kamia Lindsey, Val Lindsey Jr., Sheena Lindsey. 28 grandchildren 20 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, family, and friends.
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
