Raymond Labarry Irby was born December 22,1955 in Mobile, Alabama to Elsa and Eddie Irby Sr., from this union Raymond was the third of five children.
Raymond spent his early years in Mobile, Alabama until 1967 when his mother relocated the family to Portland, Oregon, where Raymond would attend Irvington Elementary and Grant High School. After high school Raymond worked as a dock worker and long shoreman at the shipyards.
His hobbies included playing video poker and watching football and basketball. Raymond also enjoyed talking to his children on the phone and bragging to his friends about how beautiful his kids and grandchildren were.
He was a great brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and best friend.
Preceding him in death is his mother, Elsa Mae Barkley; father, Eddie Irby Sr.; brothers, Edward Paul Irby, and Earl Minifield Jr.; grandson, Edwin Williams Jr and nephew Richard Minifield Jr.
Raymond leaves behind seven children; sons, Dion Irby Sr, Alexander Fountaine; daughters, Tiffany Pittman, Kennita Baker, Aikeda Boyd, Aikisha Boyd and Raela Thompson Irby; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Eddie Irby II, James Irby, Jasper Irby, Michael Irby, Richard Minifield Sr.; sisters, Cynthia Irby, Lisa Ann Stemley and Desiree Reid.
